Driving whilst disqualified
Section 78 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 makes it an offence to drive a motor vehicle on a road unless the person holds the applicable driver license. Driving while disqualified falls within this section.
The maximum penalty is 60 penalty units or 18 months imprisonment. There are a number of mandatory disqualification provisions and as such you should seek legal advice if charged with this offence.
